Balls Falls, another journey

The first really nice day of the year, and I had it off. Called up my buddy and my girlfriend to go for a hike and found my camera in the car. One thing led to another and off we went.
Balls Falls
A view of the falls from the other side of the ravine.
The sun smiles upon crumbling walls
The crumbling walls show the age of the forest.
Millipede
Found this little guy crawling on a rock... I have never seen one this size up close before.. It was interesting for sure
Fallen tree, rushing water
I really liked how fast the water was moving and how massive this tree is at a full view. The water had to be strong to wash it onto these rocks.
Fury
I think this is my favourite shot of the day.
The Slab
I liked the slightly ominous feel of this one.
Nature's Might
I decided to see what a tree looked like at chipmunk height.. Very exciting

Kinsmen Park Shoot

Yet another forest that captures my eye and causes the fusion of artful excitement and nature induced awe. Just a few of my favourites.

Broken Bridge
Not sure where this bridge chunk came from, there were no creeks for awhile..

Choose Your Path
This was a fun one. With a slight camera shake I find you get a sense of motion, like running through the woods and hitting this fork.

Alien Trees
These are some of the weirdest plants I've seen. And they grow on rock.. Odd.

Reach For It
Caught a worm just as he grabbed onto the leaf from his silk string.

Dew
A favourite of one of my friends, since its his cell phone background. i like how the dew drops soak up the light and glow to hold focus. The leaves are blurry but build a solid base for the rest of the photo.

Photo Adventure Through Balls Falls

Since I grew up in the country, alot of my photography tends to lean more towards nature and its natural beauty. As interesting as a cityscape may be through the lens of a camera, nothing can compare to what was given to us before we learned how to build.
I like to take the time to show people what seems to be forgotten times and sights.

Jungle Path
A path leading to the top of the hill. Through the eyes of an animal.

Bleeding Walls
Natural Shower
The Falls are fed by an underwater river, this is one spot where it spouts out. Also makes an amazing natural shower, if you can stand the cold ;).

Waterfall
The chaos and power of this spot caught my eye. Its almost like a water slide on the right side..

Lake Rock
A large rock, most likely from the glaciers that made these falls.

Waterfall Rock
This was a hard one to pick, because I have another shot thats very similar, but after asking some close friends I came to a choice.

Washed Ashore
This was an interesting find. About an hour into the forest I stumbled upon this tire. There was no other junk around, only a tire. Which means either someone was off road unicycling, or it washed down from way up the falls somewhere.

Photo Adventure in Venezuela

One of my favourite parts of going on vacation is the chance to grab some nice shots to bring back home. Here are a few of my favourite shots from the trip.
Crashing Waves
Took a walk by the ocean when the wind started to pick up. Some really nice waves out there.
Glowing Mountain
Sunrise on a misty mountain top, great to wake up to every morning.
The Breakwall
Crashing waves pounded this wall, but none ever really went over.
Forgotten Poles
The boundary between resort and desert, well worth a shot.
Rocks
Some fun rocks to climb on next to some tide pools.
Palm
This one was for my mom because its her favourite tree. Another windy day.
